NOTEWORTHY & NEWS
ATTENTION 7th GRADE FAMILIES:
This month 7th grade students throughout the state of California will be participating in the California Healthy Kids Survey. The survey is administered every two years to students in 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th grades and provides state and local education agencies very valuable information on a variety of important topics useful for reflection and improvement. All AMS students will be offered the survey, unless parents/guardians choose to opt out. Please see the form for more information. Copies of the survey, as well as the opt out form, are available in the front office.
ATTENTION 8th GRADE FAMILIES:

AHS counseling will present in 8th grade classrooms February 5th & 6th to start the registration process and answer questions. Click here for the presentation and Course Request Sheet.
Free Online Tutoring
With the start of school off and running, here is a link to a great local resource for students/families: "Adjusting to homework again? We can help with free online tutors for youth and adult learners. Use your SLO Libraries card to get started with Brainfuse."
All District Choir
The after school FREE classes have begun and take place on Tuesday and Thursday for 4-5-6th graders. The choir meets from 3:10-4pm on T/TH in Room 2 at the Fine Arts Academy. New and returning students are welcome, and if you want to visit to check it out, please do!
Middle School students just cross the street and come through the playground. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Klemm at FAA. She would love to have you join our 40+ member group!
Crosswalks, Drop-offs & Student Pickup
Students may be dropped off on the sidewalk of Lewis Avenue or West Mall Avenue. Once dropped off students can safely walk through the front gates of the AMS campus. Please be conscientious and patient as we experience a lot of traffic before and after school each day. Crossing guard support is available at the corner of West Mall and Lewis Ave. There are many students crossing the streets and keeping them safe is our top priority. The gate opens 30 minutes prior to the start of school, at 7:41 am. Offices are open from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm.
