Classroom Open for Visitors

Classrooms across campus

6:30 pm

Have you ever wondered what a middle school classroom looks like?  Please tour around and pop in!  From our 6th grade teams, through the elective wings, and into the new building to encounter the amazing science, history, math, ELA spaces, and library -- you have the opportunity to view them all.

Be sure to stop by the 6th grade information booth (6th grade quad) to speak with some of AMS' 6th grade Leadership students. You can even ask for a tour! Meanwhile, 8th grade Leadership students will also be about, running numerous fun games for the kids in your family! Listen for them on the mic.

Out on campus visit our tables, including: registration information, our Parent Teacher Organization, Friday Night Live, view a demonstration from the World Champion Atascadero GreyBots Robotics, and hear from our LINK family advocate.

We are excited to share that we are trying something a little bit new this year. We are introducing "Sessions."  Please take a look at the lineup and then Walk to Learn about a topic of your choosing.  This is a workshop-style model, so families can attend the workshop most relevant to their interest.  There are some great topics; please take a look below to choose.

Session #1

Various locations

"Ready to be a Saint" - Hear from one of our 6th grade counselors on the nuts and bolts of life at our school.  Topics include: the 6th grade schedule, how to be successful in middle school, dressing out(?!), the elective wheel, and much more. Your 5th graders will hear or heard a very similar presentation when our counselors visited the elementary schools!

AMS Library - Allyson Dexter

"Clubs and Athletics" - Stop by to hear from AMS athletic director Kelli Downs to find out all you need to know about joining a sports team (cuts vs no-cut sports, athletic physical, what sports occur each season).  She will also have a list of current AMS clubs.
